APA Approved Pre-Doctoral Internship in Clinical Psychology:
The Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology, Widener University, Chester, PA; 2000-2002

Rotations at:

1.  Fairplace & Home for Now,  programs of Elwyn, Inc., (July 2001-June 2002)

  1. Conduct individual and family therapy with adolescent girls in residential settings
  2. Conduct cognitive, personality and educational assessments using a variety of psychodiagnostic instruments
  3. Facilitate psychoeducational groups
  4. Act as a liason between clients, Elwyn program staff, state, and outside agencies.  This includes attending family court hearings, meetings at the Philadelphia Departement of Human Services, and schools.
  5. Lead quarterly individual multidisciplinary treatment plan meetings in collaboration with educational staff, residential program staff, clients and parents.
  6. Act as a clinical supervisor to a Master’s Student in her duties as Program Coordinator of a residential unit.
  7. Function as an on-call clinician
  8. Present clinical material to the clinical staff

2.  Albert Einstein Medical Center, Student Assistance Program, (September 2000-June 2001)

  1. Conduct outpatient therapy with individuals and families
  2. Conduct biopsychosocial evaluations of students referred by the SAP team.  Evaluations are conducted in the school to determine the level of need for intervention, crisis intervention, conduct short term therapy and to make referrals for further intervention
  3. Facilitate psychoeducational groups for middle school students
  4. Present clinical material to the psychological and psychiatric staff
  5. Attend Psychiatric Grand Rounds

Practicum Experience:

1.  School District of Philadelphia, Furness Cluster, (September 1999-May 2000)

  1. Evaluated preschool and school age children and adolescents to determine educational needs 
  2. Cognitive & emotional functioning, presence of learning disabilities, & behavioral difficulties assessed
  3. Evaluations included observation of the student in the classroom environment;  Interviews with the student, parent, and teachers; Review of the students academic and medical records;  Conducting functional behavioral analyses; Administering appropriate psychological assessments 
  4. Duties also included consulting with educators, acting as part of a Multidisciplinary team to create Individualized Education Plans, and facilitating group therapy for Emotional Support classes.

2.  University of Pennsylvania, Counseling and Psychological Services, (September 1998-May 1999)

  1. Ongoing individual therapy with undergraduate and graduate students
  2. Diagnostic intake interviews and assessments
  3. Participation in disposition team meetings for the pupose of referring  and assigning students to various therapists,
  4. Attended weekly case conferences, and weekly training seminars on a variety of clinical issues

3.  Lutheran Settlement House, Community Services & Domestic Violence Project, (August 1997-May 1998)

  1. Ongoing individual therapy with adults
  2. Crisis and hotline counseling for victims of domestic violence
  3. Completed 40 hrs of training for domestic violence counseling certified by the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (face-to-face & hotline)
  4. Facilitated group therapy with teen mothers
