School Psychologist & Assistant Director of Outpatient Clinic, The Green Tree School (August 2002-August 2006)

  1. Serve as the School Psychologist in an Approved Private School comprised of an Emotional Support Program. an Autistic Support Program, and an Early Intervention Program.  Students in the Emotional Support Program range in ages from 7 to 18 and are identified as Seriously Emotionally Disturbed for educational purposes.
  2. Conduct formal and informal assessments of students for the purposes of educational, clinical and behavioral programming.  Methods of assessment include utilizing cognitive, emotional, educational, and projective assessment instruments; facilitating multidisciplinary team meetings; clinical interviews; record reviews; and classroom observation.
  3. Conduct weekly group and individual supervision with 5 Master’s Level Counselors
  4. Individual psychotherapy with children and adolescents
  5. Formal and Informal Consultation with a variety of team members focused on improving, modifying and integrating the implementation of educational, clinical, behavioral services.  These consultations address systemic issues of the institution as well as those around serving individual students.

Mobile Therapist,  Home Healthcare Resources / MCC  (January 2001-June 2002)

  1. Work with the families of children with developmental challenges, including Autism, SevereLanguageDelays, and chromosomal abnormalities resulting in pervasive cognitive, emotional, and phsyical disabilites.  Conduct family, couples, and play therapy in the family homes.
  2. Function as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team in collaboration with Behavior Specialists and Therapeutic Support Staff.

Graduate Area Coordinator, Widener University, Office of Housing and Residence Life  (August 1998-June 2000)

  1. Supervise 11 undergraduate Resident Assistants (entails holding staff meetings, evaluating performance, working with R.A.’s to implement residence hall, and campus-wide programs, support and motivation of all staff members),
  2. Rotating duty shifts as on-site agent of Residence Life for the entire campus during evenings and weekends (for purposes of crisis intervention, and behavior management)
  3. Coordinate communication between residents and staff,
  4. Assist in inspection of physical operation of residence halls. 
  5. Other duties include interviewing, hiring and training new Resident Assistants.

(July 1995-May 1996)

  • Co-led a First Year class  Intellectual Testing Lab
  • Taught the mechanics of administering the WAIS III and the WISC-III
  • Aid the professor in teaching the interpretation of these tests.

  • Assisting residential students in understanding school assignments,
  • Assisting teacher in running classes and lectures, substitute teaching,

Eating Disorders/Body Image Distortion Peer Educator, Reflections Washington University, (1993-1995)

  • Educational presentations on eating disorders and body image given to student groups who request them
  • Assisting a therapy group on eating disorders weekly for 6 weeks

Psychology Senior Honors Program,  Washington University, (1994-1995)

  • Developed and carried out a year-long original research project culminating in a thesis written in APA format. 
  • The thesis was entitled Perceptions that Affect Body Image Dissatisfaction in Women and Men.
