“Preventing the Abuse of Children Through Education (PACE)”  2002 - 2004 Horizon House, Homeless Services, Philadelphia, PA – Developed and implemented psycho-educational training program for staff members and clients of Horizon House, Homeless Services on effective parenting and the prevention of child abuse, focusing on issues related to sexual abuse.  Provided training and supervision to staff members of Horizon House interested in becoming trainers.  Topics included:  Definitions of child sexual abuse; prevalence of child sexual abuse; healthy and dysfunctional boundaries and roles in families; effective communication; problem solving; how to communicate with children and adolescents about sex and sexuality; psychosexual development of children and adolescents; how to respond to concerning sexual behavior in children, adolescents, and adults; safety tips; risk factors for abuse; warning signs and potential effects of abuse; how to respond to potential signs and reports of child abuse; and juvenile/adult sex offenders.

Trauma and Treatment: Models That Work, Conference sponsored by Drexel University
